Hopefully we do! His play made Wideman expendable.

Nakladal is exactly the type of guy good teams need to find to replace dead-wood within the lineup without too much effort and time. Assuming the contract terms are reasonable and he's a willing participant, it would be silly not to sign him.

They should, but I kinda feel like its only worth it if we ship out Wideman and Smid is off the roster in someway. With Gio, Brodie, Hamilton, Kevin and Engellend already back for next season, we realistically only have 2 question mark spots at the moment, that being the 5/6/7 guys depending on where you see Engellend sitting in the depth chart. With so many prospects looking to make the team next year(Wotherspoon, Kulak, Andersson, Kylington etc), if we are going to bring back Nakladal, it only makes sense if Wideman and Smid aren't around any more. If those 2 are still here, then the only place left for Nakladal will be back in the AHL and I don't think that benefits him at all.

We really really need Wideman and Smid gone. They are wasting money and space that we desperately need right now. Get them gone and I'd happily sign Nakladal, maybe even on a 1 way deal.

They should. Provided he doesn't want significant scratch that is... 1.5M-ish max.

If they don't it will be the second straight year in which they have let a very useful player go. And I will hate our management for it.

No, they'll probably pull another Anton Stralman, and let him go.

I doubt he plays in the AHL. He would get an NHL contract from someone. He's completely capable of being 4-5.

This is the fear. I could totally see Nak becoming a top 4. He's only spent one season in north america and he looked great.

If they trade Wideman (or another D) at the draft then yes, if not then there just isn't room.

I think they'd like to but he's more likely to test the market if the Flames can't move one of Wideman or Engelland.

I am sure the Flames want to - the scouting staff did a good job finding him in the first place.

Issue is unless we move a d-man then it's probably unlikely that he wants to re-sign here, would probably look at a team with less depth.

1. You have the ability to make polls yourself now.
2. I think the only real questions are term and dollars, not "if" we sign him, but rather how long and for how much.
