A survey by the Canadian Centre for Social Norms and Research says 63 per cent of college and university students questioned drink only twice a month, or less.
That is nothing like my experiences. Twice a month. BS.

Well, that is nothing like my experiance either, but that doesn't mean mine and your experiances would be the same as other people. Their are a vast amount of College and University students who just don't drink. That doesn't suprise me.

I just graduated from University a year ago and I was a complete booze hound. I'd go out drinknig at least once a week. Usualy twice. From my experience, the vast majority of my peers did the same thing.

In a related survey, it was found that 63 percent of college and university students questioned lie through their teeth when responding to surveys...

Now...is this twice, as in, the average student has two drinks a month (pffft whatever) or twice, as in, the average student drinks any number of drinks on two seperate occasions a month?
I think this survey might have taken into consideration that some college students drink from noon til' night, and average about two gaps in their drinking, long enough to be recognized as such, per month.

The students that drink like a fish were:
( a ) too busy drinking to respond to the survey...
( b ) still passed out and not at school...
( c ) still hung over and not at school...

On a side note, and this is just more so through my experiences, I was surprised at the number of people that I would come across that a) barely drank, or B) drank none what so ever.
It was quite surprising to say the least.

What's the point of going to University if you can't act dangerously irresponsible?
I think they are lying. But... there are an awful lot of prudes out there. I went to school in Lethbridge and I bet all those Mormons weren't drinking as much Pil as I was.

Well, I'd be one of those that rarely drank during my university years. I didn't see the point to it.
At least I've wisened up since then...

I wonder what universities they polled? And did they ask colleges as well? Cause I went to Olds and I can tell you that that is not the case. Every Thurs, Fri, Sat, everybody was at the bar. $1 drinks in those days, so how could you not drink!

I bet it all depends on whether you were living with your parents, or whether you went away to college. I would guess that the kids that left home were more likely to drink more often.

Ah, one of them. Come over to the dark side and live a little. Dark side being the Mech. Engineering parties. Ever try a beer bong that's pressurized with CO2? It''ll force 4 cans of beer into you in 3 seconds flat.
And for you wise guys, no, not a party where we do some mechanical engineering.

I'm pretty sure that the "Zoo '02" sidewalk graffiti outside ENA was the result of a night of heavy drinking. Mmmmm...$5.25 pitchers of Kokanee on Fridays at the Den. Man, I miss those.
