Staff at the online magazine were told today that come July 1st, 2016 the site will go dark. It has always been a source of mediocre information, but it still has been a go to site for many to get quick and dirty information on prospects and prospect depth by organization. The chat site is horrible, but the online resource will be missed. I wonder who will step in and fill the void?

Anywhere you have fans of all 30 teams posting in a single forum, there will be a lot of bad posts.

But if it shut down where else would I go for my weekly dose of Oiler and Canuck fan misery and buffoonery?

If the boards get any more ads, especially pop ups. I may throw in the towel

More information and coverage is better than less. I'm not a huge fan of the site, but find myself visting it regularly. So I can't see how having it go away is a positive at all.

Not only that but the ad scripts on there constantly flake out and lock up my fire fox and explorer. It almost makes the site useless to go to. And its the only site that I browse that has that script problem.

Like when cap geek went offline, I'm sure that another group will put up a similar style of website.

In 2003 it was a god send for prospect info on the internet.

I find it's become a little obsolete lately as more and more people and services offer more in-depth and nuanced analysis of prospects than HF ever could.

No the idiots would just migrate to other forums. Including here.

HFBoards serves a good purpose as a crap catcher. Let it stay.

Plus, it does have one redeeming quality in the business of forum.

Is there another good site out there to see prospect info by team? HockeyFutures has been my single point of information for other teams prospects.

Get the Adblock Plus plugin for your browsers. Internet browsing without it is just so dirty and messy.
