Theo has signed for the Belfast Giants here in Belfast. Do you think he has got over his problems and how do you think he will do in the British league. belfastgiants.com. fortressodyssey.co.uk

Welcome to CP.

I don't think Fleury is totally over his problems. He might never be.

However, even if Fleury hits half the pubs in Ireland as part of training camp he is still going to tear that league up. He is a very talented hockey player and if he puts any effort into playing at all he will lead the league in scoring I am sure. The question is can he stay out of trouble and does he want to put any effort in?

I think Theo will have a great time in a place where no one is watching him after-hours.

I recall a Reader's Digest article a few years ago on the Belfast Giants detailing how the team is a unifying influence in the community.

Good luck, Theo.

He had a great time in Grande Prairie where everyone was watching him. As of last Winter Fleury was not over his problems, I find it difficult to believe he would be now.

There was even a piece on Sportsnet sometime in the past year where Fleury admitted that he hasn't been sober for a long period of time and that he is still fighting his demons.

I actually cooked for Theo and his wife about 2 months ago at my restaurant... I can report that plain old Ice tea was his choice of beverage.

Have fun watching Theo. He should provide entertainment on and off the ice.

He's probably better off staying busy and playing hockey than hanging around Alberta doing nothing. Idle hands are alchohol's playground.

I know for a fact that he isn't sober. He was slamming the double Caesars at the Keg that I work at a few weeks back when he came in with his family.

I don't like the guy either but is it really necessary that we provide a play by play of the guy's efforts (or lack thereof) to battle alcohlism?
