Default Sam Bennett on Mothers Day

Quote:
Sam Bennett is coming off his first full season in the NHL and you can bet he’s feeling pretty good about himself. In 78 games with the Calgary Flames, the 19-year-old scored 18 goals and recorded 36 points. After a pretty decent rookie campaign, the youngster decided to go all out for the woman who helped make his life what it is now. Check out what he got his mother for Mother's Day.

I'm sure this happens with multiple players across the NHL but it's a pretty sweet gesture for a rookie on an ELC none the less. Really great kid!

If it is from 2011, it is more than acceptable.

Does look like it... although his junior team does have a similar logo.

Johnny's mom penned this article on the Flames site
http://flames.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=881959

Was interesting to note the nice touch from Jay Feaster

Jane Gaudreau is awesome.

Quote:
It was a little easier when John played junior and college hockey because he always wore a full cage to protect his face. When he made the NHL I actually told John to ask if he could wear a full cage. He kind of rolled his eyes and said, "Mom, nobody does that." I said “well … maybe if you just asked them?" He said "Mom, I’m not doing that." Then I thought what about a shield that comes down … like really, really far? My husband finally said, "Jane, let it go. They aren’t going to do that."
Just mom things.

what would be far more effective is asking for a goon to play bodyguard for johnny

There is A LOT of talk by Mrs. Gaudreau about how sad she is that John is so far away. It comes up like 12 times.

Just out of curiosity, it's a Stanley Cup shirt, when else could it be from? Don't think they made shirts like that the last time the Bruins won a cup.

Mrs. Gaudreau calls Johnny, "John", and Matt, "Matty".

Coors Lite came out with those shirts about 3 years ago. I remember i tried to get one but the only ones the NSLC had were Colorado, Anahiem, and Edmonton
