Default Quick Cabana

My wife wants to get one of these for the summer. Sitting on a beach or by the lake or something seems fine to me. But how about sitting at the park? My wife envisions us using it at Prince's Island. I envision us looking like dinks.

What's the general consensus on these things?

I think it depends on the situation.

At an event, say folks fest, you are a dink. That thing would block people's view.

At the beach or just hanging for the day at the park, yeah I don't see anything wrong with it.

It is useful if you have kids, gives them somewhere to get out of the sun.

We have used it when at the beach and it is great.

The sooner you stop caring if you look like a dink the better.

Are they useful? Yes, they provide shade and they are portable.

No, no concerts. Just for day use at the park.

If you have a golden retriever as per the picture, then you're fine. 100%.

Look at that dog in the photo. Look at those eyes. The yearn to kill! Evil incarnate!

I agree with the not a concerts sentiment above, but overall this is great to get a little bit of shade at the beach or even from the wind or the odd rain shower mid summer.

The cross thread inside jokes are hilarious...

That thing says to me 'I want to be outside...but not like outside outside, ya know'

I could see it for the beach if you have little ones with you. But dont set it up like the dinks in the picture, because they have it facing the wrong way to sheild them from the sun.

If you have little kids/babies, these are great for a quick outdoor playpen that keeps them out of the bugs and sun: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ou...-0765440p.html

Seems like overkill in the light of a stake in the ground and some rope.

Is it really called a Quick Cabana? Looks like half a tent to me.

We tried the rope but they just chewed right through it.
