Default Parity in 2016/17

Sportsnet with Toronto-rose-tineted glasses was talking about how the last place teams this year got well above average wins/points for last placers.

Thinking about next year; i expect most of the bottom feeders this year to do better next year. Even Edmonton.

Who will be the last place teams next year - Toronto & Vancouver ?

Is it possible all the managers are better at copying each other to thrive with the salary cap and parity goes up ?

I think Toronto is pissed for a significant jump.

The problem with your questioning is more about narratives and storylines. Almost every team ever year has hope. We were supposed to be better, Buffalo was, Edmonton certainly was, etc. We always look as fans at the newcomers that should be better rather than the complex and difficult task of looking at teams falling. Most of the teams that will be wise next year are very hard to predict

It's easier for the worst teams to have more points when they aren't intentionally tanking from day one for McDavid.

And it's harder to tank from day one when you tanked the year before and your fans need a reason to buy this year's tickets. I suspect several teams are suffering a financial hangover after drinking from the toilet bowl last year.

Pissed? Poised or drunk?

Right now you can not get worse than worst. But they have little roster. Who knows now until they do something?
