Pittsburgh is hot, but I think it will be a close one. Penguins in 7

Rangers in 5. Battle tested Rangers team with Lundqvist in net vs. a Pittsburgh team that has traditionally struggled in the post-season, and now are relying on either Murray or Zatkoff in net, at least to start the series.

Mat Murray was hurt in the Pens last game of the season. If the Pens have to use a thrid stringer i'd be picking the Rangers.

Loads of key injuries.
NYR: McDonagh, Girardi, Zuccarello, Stalberg, possibly Staal
PITT: Fleury, Murray, Malkin, Maatta, Dupuis, Bennett, Rust
Will say that the divisional playoffs has created great matchups for the metropolitan.

This is a tough one, don't like the Rags, hoping for a Crosby vs OV second around.

Fleury, been on ice for the last week, will start game 1
Murray, day to day
Malkin, Back on ice and day to day
Maatta, Took practice with the team today, for the first time since he last played on March 24th, but was used on a defense pairing with Derrick Pouliot. Maatta's typical partner, Kris Letang, practiced with Trevor Daley.
Which would seem to make Maatta's status for the opener still up in the air.
Dupuis, retired
Bennett, day to day
Rust, day to day

Rangers D is thin right now and this isnt the same forward group from years past.
Lundqvist is still good but no longer the elite world beater he was in his prime.
Pens finally get over on the Rangers in 6.

Giradi, Zuccarello, Stalberg and Staal all took full practice yesterday. Looks like they'll all be good to go.

The lack of clear information around injury status is ridiculous this year. I know NHL teams always try to hide this stuff, but it seems to be getting worse. I wish the league would crack down and demand accurate daily updates from teams.

Curious as to why? It's like people who are forced to submit time sheets every day or week. Pointless exercise. People arbitrarily put it whatever to fill out their info.
