Default Kulak and Poirier returned to Stockton. Poirier recalled again?

per AHL transactions

They were on emergency call ups and the emergency ended.

So Gaudreau is back. Who was Kulak replacing again?

Unimpressed with Poirier during his call up once again. I know he's still young, but he really hasn't done much in his NHL stints over the last 2 years. Unnoticeable most shifts, panics when he has the puck, and not very aggressive for someone who was a big pest in junior.

I thought Poirier looked good against the Ducks. I was kind of disappointed he didn't get into last night's game based on his play against the Ducks.

I think his pestiness has been overrated by some of the fan base. I don't think it's a huge part of his game.

I didn't mind him, I think he has a lot of tools to be an NHLer. He's got to continue to put it all together. I saw a lot of promise. I don't think he's ready yet though.

I would be extremely surprised if Poirier ever becomes an impact NHLer.

Usually impact NHLers at least look like they fit in at this stage in their careers. He just looks invisible every time he's called up.

Mind you I don't watch the AHL, but his numbers seem to suggest that he's also regressed a bit in Stockton this season.

Don't think he looked at all invisible this call up.

He was far from invisible. Every player develops at a different rate. Plenty of time for him to turn into an NHLer.

Poirier still has two more years on his ELC. Patience, people.

I thought he was invisible too. I can't remember any of his plays.

He still has time but next year is probably his last shot to start making an impact. He's been passed by Shinkurak.

Yeap, they aren't all like Gaudreau and Monahan and just take the league by storm as soon as they go pro.

Poirier still has lots of time IMO, but the good thing for us is, that Poirier isn't the only bullet in the chamber.

I think Poirier and Shinkaruk play quite different roles. So it's still possible for Poirier to get call-ups over Shinkaruk depending on the hole in the Flames' lineup.

Really wanted to see Poirier with Gaudreau & Monahan. Still time for a regular call up I suppose.

Put me in the camp that really noticed him (in a good way) against Anaheim. Not so much against Arizona, but the Anaheim game he was noticeable many of his shifts. Good on the forecheck (drew a penalty), good on the cycle (plays weren't dying on his stick) and a real plus that a few Ducks were pissed at him.

Compared to his face plant in Penticton and camp this year I took it as a real positive.

Yeah me too.

Shinkaruk deserved the bump to the top line last night, but I didn't think he fit at all. Poirier is more what they need.

I don't think he was good nor bad. He looked okay, showed a bit of hustle at times but looked like a player that still needs a year or so to put it all together. Probably doesn't help that he's under the microscope too when called up for a game here and there, like Ortio he may need to be called up and played for an extended time to get some confidence and relax.
