Default Carolina relocating to Quebec

http://www.hockeyfeed.com/nhl-news/b...orever/?ref=jo

Not sure how reliable this is, but I like it. Las Vegas in the west and adding either Portland OR Seattle in the future would be a good balance!

I haven't heard a lot about this but i guess the Atlanta-Winnipeg move was pretty quick as well. The Hurricanes have to be the least buzz-worthy team in the entire league.

If Carolina moves to Quebec, I wonder if Quebec is still going to hang the Stanley cup banner

They were just talking about this on the radio - fan960. I think their guest put pretty cold water on rhis. But I guess you never know.

I'd support the idea, but didn't they pay the expansion fee?

I want a team there, and would prefer a re-location over more expansion

I don't like it. Carolina hasn't had much to be excited about since they won the cup. I don't really blame them for poor attendance this season.

Quebec seems...volatile.

hockeyfeed.com? Has that site ever broken a rumor before? Never heard of it before.

The Atlanta-Winnipeg move was caused by an ownership change. So unless Carolina has been sold I would be surprised if this happens without that.

15,032 New Jersey Devils
14,517 Columbus Blue Jackets
13,525 New York Islanders
13,256 Arizona Coyotes
12,036 Carolina Hurricanes

... ouch.

They aren't the one breaking it though, Vincent Cauchon a Quebec City radio host broke it.

They paid the deposit of I think $10 million to process their application.

The expansion fee is rumored to be in excess of $500 million and nobody's paid that yet.

Would love to see that if true. Like Winnipeg, it's the way things should be from a nostalgic perspective.

I remember watching Guy Lafleur at the Saddledome playing for the Nordiques. It's one of the best memories from hockey I have.

Pro-tip: If the headline is clickbait - and sensationalist clickbait at that - the source is not reliable.

Karmanos was in QC last week, according to the article. He's been wanting to sell the team for years. When these relocation things happen, they happen fast. The Thrashers became Winnipeg pretty quick.

I know. This low-grade site is moving several days behind the rumours. The idea was resurrected last week, with Bill Daly already making the standard denial several days ago.

My point, ultimately, is that this site doesn't deserve the eyeballs or the ad revenue that comes with.

Yeah I read that, I guess I meant first web site. No news of this anywhere else tonight, so I'm assuming it's just much ado about nothing at the moment.

Carolina is one of the few teams I'm "meh" about.

If they move to Quebec I will have to hate them.
