Which Goalie Do You Hope The Flames Add For 2016/17?
I know it's been discussed to death in numerous threads, but it's probably the biggest and most important question that needs to be answered going into next season, and I wanted to see a poll on the matter as well.
Assuming Ortio continues his solid play and earns another contract with the Flames for next season, what goalie would you (realistically) most like to see the Flames add to pair with Joni?
Some of them would be via UFA, some would have to be by trade.

I have a feeling we'll be getting one of the guys in St Louis.

Geez, I thought I covered most of the bases with my poll options, and then right off the hop I see I should have added a bunch more names lol.
One thing for sure, there are a lot of options out there.

Anderson would be my choice with Ortio as the backup.

I pick Reimer because:
1. I think he'd be a steady starter
2. Won't cost assets in a trade because he's UFA
3. I think he could be had for a decent cap hit and term (2-3 years)
4. I think that term would fit in real well with when we hope Gillies will be ready

I don't know if he's who I want, but I think it will be Reimer.
My dream scenario is: Jones struggles in the first couple playoff games, so they put Reimer in. Reimer has an incredible playoff run and takes the Sharks to the finals. The Sharks can't let Reimer go after he becomes a folk-hero in Silicon Valley, so they give him a big-long contract. The Sharks then put Jones on the trade block and the Flames get him.

I don't know enough to know who are big positional goalie's and who rely on their athletic ability. If the new equipment rules come into effect, some of these huge goalies maybe won't look so good. My vote goes to Reimer (6'2 - 208 lbs.) which says to me he doesn't rely on his height and he's a UFA.

I would prefer Frederik Andersen, but due to acquisition cost I think Reimer is more likely.
I'll take signing Reimer as a UFA over trading assets to get Andersen.

I really like the idea of Andersen, but I think he'd be expensive. Still voted for him, but would be happy with Raanta or Reimer

I would like a guy like Andersen but it`s a tough situation for the Flames. Other teams know that goaltending is an area of weakness and they`ll probably try to gouge the Flames in a trade. Ideally, if the Flames do make a trade they don`t give up any picks higher than a third as they really need to hold onto those assets.
A UFA guy like Reimer might be the best option. They just need someone to hold down the fort for a couple seasons while Gillies gains some pro experience.
Who knows about Ortio. If he can get over his slow starts and keep improving then great. I guess he`s still relatively young for a goalie so there`s a bit more time to see what he`s got. I don`t mind him back as a backup, just need someone more stable to help the Flames climb out of the basement in the standings.

I don't want the Flames to trade for anyone. Sign Reimer or Ward, protect Gillies in the 2017 expansion draft.
