Curious the wife and I are in university and next year most likely will be moving back to Calgary to continue our education. What are the prices like for a two bedroom apartment in the downtown area?

Depends on how new and luxurious it is or isn't, but on my shopping trip, I found it was around $200,000 and up for something decent, though you can probably find something for less. If you're willing to go down to 1 bedroom, you can probably find something in the $150,000 and up range.

I ended up buying in Inglewood due to greater affordability.

Nah. You can get a nice 2bdr for under $150,000. You can get a decent 1bdr 600+ sqft for around $120,000 with a parking stall. PM me if you want info.

Wow. That's a snazzy apartment you've got there.

Last year I was in a 2 bedroom on 14 Ave and 4th St and my rent was about $850. No pool or luxuries mind you. I did get a discount for signing a lease.

So what would a single bedroom apartment around downtown cost roughly? I/m just seeking out my options.

They say an aprtment should cost about $1/square foot for rent. That's an average for Calgary. Plan on paying about that. I'm in a one bedroom, and it rocks, is in Inglewood, and I pay $600/month.
