I know some people will say who cares, but there are still a lot of people who like him.
This looks pretty bad

Ugh. I hate seeing stuff like that. Lands face first, too.
Hope he's ok.

Ugh, gotta be the first fight he's lost in years too. Good to hear he's conscious. Hope he doesn't have any concussion issues.

That might be it for McGrattan, hate to see that. Didn't appreciate the crowd going on for as long as they did but more importantly, good to hear he's ok!

I find it a little disturbing that people cheered.

According to twitter the guy who knocked out McGrattan is running wild.
He apparently ran over Tokarski injuring him too.

Me too. Maybe they aren't used to proper hockey etiquette.

It's disturbing to some of us that most fans and players still think fighting is "part of the game." If that's how you think, why not cheer a knockout? Isn't that really the object when two guys throw haymakers at each other?
That said I hope he's okay and has a full life after hockey once he's done. Too many of these guys have had pretty short and miserable lives once their career is done....another reason I don't cheer for fighting in the first place. You can't abhor the effect when you endorse the cause.

Sucks to see. Its his choice obviously - but seeing these old NHL fighters still doing it in the AHL when they have little chance of getting back in the NHL is tough.
Maggio wasn't a super tough junior guy (I mean he was tough but not a top fighter) so that's surprising.
Is there drug testing in the AHL?

Those fans are friggen animals.
Even if it were an Oiler getting KO'd, seeing a guy go down that hard, I definitly wouldn't be hollering like that.
