Default Three shot in shooting at Muslim cemetary near Cochrane

http://globalnews.ca/news/2573726/fo.../?sf22436564=1

Police all over both the cemetary and Foothills Hospital, where the victims were taken.

The shooters are at large but police say there is no danger to the public.

RCMP had initially said one person was dead. They later determined that person had already been dead, and was the subject of a funeral, where the shooting happened.

Police slang for organized crime related violence.

Apparently the funeral was completed and some people were still there when someone opened fire. The victims were driven (not by ambulance) to the Foothills Hospital. This was on CTV a few minutes ago. The three shot are not in life-threatening condition.

Wiki tells me Muslims are buried with no casket, head to Mecca...if this is the case, it would explain both the "4th victim" and the dedicated cemetery. Pretty sure you couldn't go casket-free in a municipal cemetery, nor easily assure yourself of alignment with Mecca. Anybody with first-hand knowledge care to confirm or refute?

Catholics do as well. Lots of religions and even particular denominations within religions have their own cemeteries.

Hearing it was the brother of a OD victim who shot the drug dealers who sold his brother drugs.

Gotta love how the cemetery manager is already trying to beat the race drum. Too bad for him the statement from police directly under his completely contradicts him.

Why would the dealers who sold the drugs that he OD'd on be at the funeral?

Maybe they knew the guy. Maybe they were friends or relatives. I have a friend who used to sell drugs to his younger brothers. (Not the kind you can easily OD on, but still.)

Yeah, I would say that it is probably more often the case that people buy drugs from friends and acquaintances. Selling to strangers is pretty risky.
