Default P.K. Subbban leaves game on stretcher

https://www.nhl.com/news/pk-subban-o...?tid=277567792
Quote:
MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban appears to have avoided the worst.

Subban was taken from the ice on a stretcher after he collided with teammate Alexei Emelin in the third period of a 3-2 win against the Buffalo Sabres at Bell Centre on Thursday.

The Canadiens announced after the game that Subban sustained a neck injury and was taken to a hospital as a precautionary measure. He was alert and able to move all of his extremities.

"I went to see him, he was with the doctors," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said. "I had a good conversation with the doctor and he was able to move his extremities. So that's good news under the circumstances."

I was watching when it happened, had a sick feeling in my stomach. Sounds like everything is working, hoping he's back soon.

Weird play, looks so innocent to have that kind of outcome.

From his family, it sounds like he'll be ok.

I hope it's more of a 'heard a crack and panicked' than anything. It's happened to me, I went in hard and DEFINITELY heard a crack. Sore neck was all I had in the aftermath. But, at the time, I was positive I was done for.

Аrpon Basu @ArponBasu
Habs announce P.K. Subban was released from hospital late last night and that his neck injury is not considered serious.

Scary for him, his family, friends and teammates for sure.

However, when I seen the play, my initial reaction was when someone is flopping around like that, shredding his equipment in a panicking manner, it's not a neck or back injury. I'm not a doctor but one can use logic to conclude that it's just PK being PK. I thought he got a skate blade to his face or throat based on his reaction tbh.

I may get Flamed for this thought but that was my initial reaction to it all.

Seemed a bit dramatic.. Perhaps my opinion is simply due to not liking PK's antics and dramatic approach to pretty much everything on the ice.

Note- I'm glad he's OK. I'm sure it could easily have been much worse and thankfully it wasn't.

Get well soon, PK.

People who flop for dramatics don't get removed from the ice on a back board.

Ya they do. I can't even count how many people I have put on a backboard/ stretcher for precautionary/potential neck injuries. It is SOP.

And in every case, not one was flopping around like a fish out of water.

Subban has never missed a game to injury. Just told me if he does tomorrow, it won't be by choice @Sportsnet

Glad he is okay. Wonder if mark spector thinks Emelin, should have got revenge on Foligno for being on the ice the same time, that Subban went down.
