I can't believe I'm actually starting a thread for this but this has got to be the cutest frickin thing I've ever seen.
http://catsinsinks.com/
I had a cat when I was growing up "Muggins" that loved to lay in the sink. Didn't realize it was so common.
Anyhoo for all you catlovers - enjoy!

I can't believe I'm replying to a thread about this. My cat used to lay in the sink as well. She didn't like it when I turned on the tap though.

It is very cute, but the brat in me just wants to turn on the tap.
I can't help it!

^^^The weird thing with my cat Muggins was that I would turn on the tap - just a slow drizzle. She would let it pour on her and start purring.
Weird cat.

My 12 year old cat still lays in the sink, and doesn't care when the water drizzles on him. He will also dip his paw into the stream, and lick off the water. He also likes to jump into the shower, when we get out, and lick the water off the walls. He prefers water this way over a dish.

Not quite the sink, but one of my moms cats used to run into the bathroom after someone had a shower and start pawing at the shower hose to encourage a drop of water to fall, then try to catch it. He stopped when he ripped the entire shower off the wall.

I had one that didn't mind water as well.
He would sit by the sink and wait for someone to wet down their hands and pet him with wet hands. I'm guessing it must have given him flashbacks to when he was a kitten and his mother would lick him.

My cat goes in the shower too. When she can get upstairs that is. She's 21 years old.

My one cat(the fat one) always does this in the summer on really humid nights. I'll go to get ready for bed and he'll be taking up the whole sink.

Both of our cats love water...they will literally sit beside the sink and watch everyone wash up...dipping their paws in the running water and grooming themselves along with the rest of us. Dont like the rain though...LOL

I love completely useless web sites like that. We have four cats and one is a real sink explorer too.
Maybe I could start one about "Golden Retrievers Scoping out Dishwashers."

If you like useless website about cats check this one out. It's called infinte cat. It starts with a picture of a cat then someone take a picture of their cat looking at the picture of the cat, then someone else takes a picture of their cat looking at the picture of the picture of the cat .... and on and on and on ...

Cats like sinks generally because they're cool, and there's the possiblility of fresh water. My cats don't do that though. My one cat did get really curious one day when I was having a bath, and decided to take a trip around the edge of the bathtub. I had a picture of her on top of the taps. Cute. I don't have any idea where that picture went though.

Wow, some of those cats look really passed off.
On a cat related note, in the last two weeks I've had friends who have had cats who
-Jumped of a 4th storey Balcony
-Jumped into the dryer unbeknownst (sp???) to the owner and wasn't discovered for ~ 10 minutes.
