The Capitals scored two goals 28 seconds apart late in the first period. Ovechkin has one of the goals and Oshie has assisted on both of them. Soshnikov scored for the Leafs early in the second period, 2-1 Capitals.
The Blackhawks have a 1-0 lead after twenty minutes. Seabrook with the early goal.

Ok, I'll give it to them, thats pretty good.
I see Bernier has a .833 Sv%. What a bum....oh wait, thats because the Caps have only had 12 shots through 2 periods! Jesus, they are dialling it in hard tonight.

The Caps are on pace to come pretty close to the all-time most wins in a season record of 62.
They are on pace for 60.8 wins. Depending on how tough their remaining schedule is, they might even tie or beat the 62 win record.
That would be pretty darn sick to see in this day and age.

Midway through the third period Colin Greening tied it for the Leafs at 2-2, then 75 seconds later, the Capitals' Niskanen scored on the power play with Oshie getting his third assist of the game!

Babcock is a wizard. This lineup should be losing 9-1 every night.
But we already knew that

Detroit runs into penalty trouble and Chicago pounces on them, 3-0 Blackhawks.

It actually might be less impressive now that ties aren't a thing.

True, but in the days of parity, I think it's more impressive.

It is a complaint to Sportsnet for not doing a national doubleheader on a Wednesday night (one of its signature nights).

The Hawks look great, I just hope the stars get past them

Reaffirms my dislike for punks like Bieksa and Kesler. Galchenyuk looks good tonight

It sure is nasty on the ice. The checking has been frequent. After a scoreless first period, Galchenyuk gets the Habs up 1-0. McGinn ties it up later on in the second period. The Habs were two men down and killed it off and there were fighting and roughing penalties. Galchenyuk scored his second goal of the game just 56 seconds into the third period, 2-1 Habs. Perry tied it up at 2-2 with a power play goal.

Bieksa was in a fight with McCarron and could it be a hat trick for Galchenyuk.
