Ducks Sabres deal Jamie McGinn to Ducks for a conditional 3rd

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Jamie McGinn to ANA

Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun
Believe the return to Buffalo for McGinn is a conditional pick

Pirri and now McGinn. Ducks are adding serious depth

Should be a great pick up for a playoff run.

Good lord the Pacific adds another power forward. SJ trying to keep up with ANA, LA. Really good pickup IMO.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Conditional 3rd from ANA for McGinn. Could become 2nd.

Jamie McGinn is a power forward now?

I remember when power forward was a term that actually meant something.

Describes a style of play. Anybody who is a bigger, stronger player who likes to use their size to their advantage through hitting and protecting the puck is a powerforward in style IMO.

Other styles of player include playmaking winger, playmaking centre, sniper, grinder, two-way centre, two-way winger, etc, etc.

How would you describe McGinn's style of play? Powerforward is the easiest summation IMO.

The term power forward was originally used to describe players like Cam Neely, Eric Lindros, Keith Tkachuk, Brendan Shanahan... Guys that were as intimidating as they were skilled. Basically enforcers that could pop in 50 goals a year.

Jamie McGinn is not a power forward.

Not bad, about what I was expecting. Would've liked a second round pick straight up, but seemed like a weak market for forwards.

Pulling for an Anaheim/Dallas western conference final I suppose, to maximize Buffalo and Calgary's returns!

We now have 4 third round draft picks this year, if this one stays a third.
