Not the worst game for the Flames. Could've easily won, but let down by goaltending, some typical defensive breakdowns, and bad special teams. Flames were the better team overall, I thought.

Ah well. Just counting down the days until the deadline.

Minnesota is very lucky to win that game. They played the first period only then got dominated.

Hiller is awful
Hamilton is good
+2 Laine points.

Jonas freaking Hiller

If only Joe could have scored that "Gretzky like goal" lol

Johny seemed to be fighting it a bit but I feel a few guys are now trying to do too much to make up for other guys and it's not helping.

Nakladel was quite impressive. Seems comfortable with the puck and the short handed goal against wasn't completely his fault. He could afford to stand the guy up as he had back up and his goalie needs to stop that.

honesty these kinds of games are probably the best for the long-term success of this team, as much as it hurts to say.

Bad team is bad. Bad team with a bad goalie is a meltdown

Do people earn some sort of prize that I'm not aware of for starting the PGT?

Better team for the second straight game. Life without Russell would be pretty great if Hiller could make a damn save. Ah well, Matthews/Laine points never hurt.

Play of the game was Bennett's pass to Brodie that led to the Backlund goal. That's gottabe the first successful cross-crease pass all season.

Hiller is hopeless but I'm not seeing the recognition from the faithful about how bad the defense is in front of him.

Most of the goals against weren't on Hiller. It's more on the defense.

With that said, Hiller doesn't look comfortable at all, and making routine saves look more difficult than it should be.

What do you have to lose in giving Ortio the next game? If Flames are gonna keep losing, at least give him a shot to see if he can find some of that form from last season. Can't do much worse.

I almost felt sorry for the Flames in the end. They had a bunch of posts, had decent chances in the third, but Hiller was committed to the rebuild.

This. This is a game the Flames win with even average goaltending. Hiller is an absolute nightmare.
