The Czechs scored two quick ones in the third to turn a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 lead. They added a late empty netter to win it 5-3.

Sweden scored 13 seconds into the game. They lead 1-0 about halfway through the first. A regulation win will guarantee Sweden first in the pool.

Well, too bad this Swiss team didn't show up yesterday.
4-0 USA early.

Edit: 5-zip

6-0 for US. Team USA actually looks pretty solid at every position.

Not sure how Puljujarvi and Laine get passed over by the #2 and #3 picks in the draft. These two are dynamic.

I was saying this during the world juniours last year. Puljujarvi is Ovi Lite, he was snake bitten last year... Look at him now.

Barring a total collapse by the Americans against Denmark tomorrow, Canada is locked into third in their pool. That means they'll play the winner of tomorrow's Finland-Czech Republic game in the quarterfinal.

The US will play the loser of that game. Sweden will play Slovakia, and Russia will play Denmark. Switzerland and Belarus will play for relegation.

It will be interesting to see how intense tomorrow's game will be. Its outcome will have no impact on the standings, but if both Canada and Sweden win their QF games, they'll face each other in the semifinal. Will the two teams play it safe, or will they want to set a tone for a future showdown?
