Default December 22, with nine games.

This is the last OOT before Christmas as the NHL takes a three day break from Wednesday to Friday. The break usually starts on December 24, but, Boxing Day is on a Saturday this year and the league wants to have its marquee night filled with games.

the last 4 or 5 games he's looked really good, has 4 points in the last 3 I think, seems to have some chemistry with Horvat and is going to the net a lot more

Corban Knight scores his 2nd career NHL goal to put the Panthers up 1-0 over the Senators.

Shots are 21-9 for Florida halfway through the second.

Schlemko now has 3 times as many goals as Wideman this year.

The referees are awful tonight in South Florida. Both Reilly Smith and Jaromir Jagr were cut with very obvious high sticks and no call. Jagr's was especially bad as he was down on the ice for a while with blood pouring out of his face.

Now they blow a play down with a loose puck in front of the Ottawa net that Ekblad would have scored on if not for the whistle. Ekblad visibly angry, screaming at the refs and even mixing it up with Chris Neil. Ekblad is normally cool as a cucumber. Nothing phases him normally, so it was quite surprising.

Edit: Wow, Jagr lost his 2 front teeth on that high stick. Not sure if they were not his original teeth, but that's still pretty brutal with no call.

Ottawa is playing bush league now, taking lots of penalties and giving a ton of extra whacks and hacks because they're getting beat so thoroughly.

Shots after 2 periods: Panthers-30 (along with a couple posts and a disallowed goal), Senators-12.

Derrick Brassard has both goals for the Rangers and his team leads 2-1 over the Ducks midway through the third period.

Marchessault scores with 22 seconds left in the second period for the Lightning to tie the Canucks 1-1. The Canucks killed off five straight penalties, but, could not kill off a sixth penalty.

Detroit is coming back, it is 3-2 Devils.

either Ottawa looks bad (bad coverage) or Florida looks good (good wheels), 'cause I've seen a ton of odd man rushes for Florida, or guys beating Ottawa's D back to the puck for a good scoring chance.

Senators D this year might be the worst in the league except maybe the Oilers. Beyond Karlsson and Methot, there's not much. Ceci was looking OK but got injured. Chris Wideman is OK too, behind him is Cowen, Borowiecki, and Wiercioch. Ugly.

Panthers have also won 4 straight and outscored their opponents 16-6 in that stretch, so they're playing good hockey right now too.

However, game is tied 1-1 despite the Panthers dominating the play. I can't imagine where Ottawa would be without Anderson.

Hansen dives, ref sends both even though the Tampanguys did nothing. Sedins score on the 4 on 4.

It was 5-on-5, the refs didn't call incidental minors on the play.

Not really, I see the point he is trying to make. The actual amounts aren't important, it's a comment on how well Shlemko is doing(given his career high for a season is 4) and how badly Wideman is doing, especially on the goalscoring front.

The other game with a Pacific Division team has the Coyotes ahead 2-1 over the stinkin' Leafs after one period. The goals will make the highlights everywhere as all three goals were scored in 21 seconds! Van Riemsdyk with a power play goal and then Doan scores seven seconds later and scores again 14 seconds after that.
