Thumbs up Matt Freakin Stajan!

I think it is fitting I start this one. Never stopped believing in the guy and thought he was misused by Sutter. Has been great defensively as well, I hope he gets a shot at getting Iggy going.

I've been waiting for this thread.

I think this could be a breakout year for Stajan. He looks like he has a new lease on life and is playing with far more confidence.

The truth of the matter is that Stajan has never been as bad as some people say. The problem is that he signed a contract that pays him a scoring forward's salary, and to date he hasn't delivered on it. Amazing the difference it makes when players are allowed to play to their strengths.

Stajan has been great but he is still nothing more than a 2b/3a center.

Which is what he's paid to be.

It's still too bad that White and Hagman crapped out the way they did. Have to wonder if they might have been victims of the Brent Sutter effect as well.

And that's all anyone expects him to be

He never was, and never will be a 4th line centre, and that's where Sutter played him. He was bound to fail, and he became the easy target for fans to hate on when he couldn't meet expectations

In the type of offence we play now, and with him being used properly Stajan is playing the way he showed he could in Toronto

Aw hell I'll thank it since I gave DT crap for it last year. He's been great.

These "frickin" threads have become totally overdone in the last 6 months but if anyone deserves one it's Matt Stajan. He's gone from being the whipping boy to a guy I would love to see re-signed after next season (at a lower price).

i never thought we'd see a 'frickin stajan' thread to be totally honest.

it's awesome to see how he's playing this year - hopefully he keeps it up!!

Agreed, I think "first name 'fricken' last name" threads should require the player to be at least point per game at whatever level. As well as Stajan has been playing I'd still love for someone to take him and his contract off our hands. I've been so patient Stajan the past years that I thinks it's only fair that he has to play extra well to earn back my respect.

It would be more fitting if you started a Jay "fricken" Bouwmeester thread actually.

Don't forget, this is a shortened season, so 13 games is like 22 games in a regular year.
