Canucks and the Stars hooked up in an impromptu deal today. The Canucks have sent Jaden Schwartz and Sami Vatanen to Dallas in exchange for Chris Kreider and Tyler Myers.

Basically I wanted to shake things up. We've been struggling and I needed a change. Myers fits in as my #2 dman and he's signed to a decent contract for another year. Kreider has some size and skill and will hopefully jump start my 2nd line.

Schwartz was a question mark for me with his ankle injury. He's probably the best player in this trade, but who knows how the injury will affect him going forward.

I'd have to give this one to the Stars. Myers is a gooder but I think Schwartz is going to be a great player.

I like this a lot for Dallas. I'm a big fan of Vatanen's offense and not sold on Myers yet.

Seems pretty even to me. I might like it a bit more for Dallas, but there is the question-mark of Schwartz and his injury.

Even deal. Myers is doing really well in Winnipeg this year. Canucks get the better defenseman, Dallas gets the better forward.
