This is the most frustrating thing about Trump in my opinion...he's some how turned his name into a brand that's associated with being rich and successful. Unfoturnately the reality is he was born into priviledge, his Dad had inside connections that made his first "deal" happen, he ended up inheriting $40-200million and with inflation has failed to increase this wealth beyond just planting it in the S&P500.
when he values his golf course investments at a 3-1 metric while the rest of the world uses a 1.5 - 1 metric with annual revenues. Most of his money these days comes from selling his name, which he does without regard as shown by his Trump University being sued.
Anyway...the guy deserves to have his name dragged through the mud till people associate Trump with "lies/failure" and not "luxury".

Frustrating.

The name will not be changed, people(mostly Asian investors) have paid millions of dollars for their Condo's. And Sadly the Prestige associated with Trump buildings played a role in their higher than average prices.
Principle Malaysian owner of the Development itself Paid for the right to use the "Trump Brand", and plans to live on the top Floor, so you can bank on it remaining Trump Tower

They just need to change the pronunciation, not the name. Convince everyone the "T" is silent.

Yeah it's kind of silly they want the name changed and I don't see the developer complying at all as they are likely paying a lot of money in that licensing agreement. If you don't like Trump or his views don't spend any money at the hotel. You can't deny free speech or sensor like this to suit your tastes as there were no objections prior to his presidential campaign.

I don't care for Trump one iota. In fact, I legitimately fear what could happen to America should he (or for that matter, Cruz or Carson) become President.
This story is kind of silly though. Private investors can name their tower peepee poopoo kaka tower if they want.

Can they? You'd think thered be some sort of 'decency legislation' or something?
Maybe these guys can try a loophole with that!

Dumb. I like how the media says "Vancouver doesn't want it" speaking for everyone in Vancouver. Reminds me of the UK petition that had 450k signatures to ban trump from visiting that the media took and ran with. What the same media didn't tell you was that there was another petition with over a million signatures from people in the UK that agree with Trump and support him.
I used to think Canada had a very unbiased non propaganda media. After living in other places besides Canada Ive realized how wrong I was. Its almost like Canada lives in a bubble and that bubble is controlled with heavily edited propaganda. When I talk to Canadians they tell me how trump hates immigrants and immigration. At no time has he said that and yet its the same rhetoric from every Canadian I talk to. How do they all come up with this? It must be the media.
Heres something interesting not being reported...

Putin endorses Trump, says Sepp Blatter deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Who knew Vlad was such an ace troll?

Firstly, why would Canadian news be reporting on the opinion of the Russian president on American presidential candidates?
Secondly, who the hell cares? Is this something groundbreaking? They are both aggressive loud mouths, of course they'll agree with each other.

Yeah so weird that we Canadians would jump to this conclusion. I mean putting up a wall to keep out the dirty Mexicans and banning all Muslims from setting foot in the USA is really a compassionate, thoughtful and progressive world view of immigration. You are correct though, I am pretty sure The Donald has never actually stated that "he hates immigrants" - silly Canadian media-jumping to conclusions like that. Thank God American media outlets don't do that.

Sometimes you don't need to say specific things to get a point across.
That said, I think Trump is just straight up trolling the Republicans right now.
