What a work horse. Stepped up huge after Gio went down! Still can't believe we got him for only a 5th rounder. Seems like the fanbase is split on Russell, but I think he's a pretty important part of the team and figure he'll be extended if possible.

Loved that backhand pass.. He definitely had a bit more confidence last year... Hope he picks it up, CP seems to love or hate him.. I don't mind him but if we get a decent return that would be good.

Yeah that backhander to Jooris is one of the best passes I've seen. Just insane.
Hard not to like Russell because the guy leaves everything out there and flashes some skill too.
But it can be too easy to fall in love with your own players even when your team is not that good. Flames should get whatever assets they can for him and develop a younger cheaper version to play on bottom pairing IMO.
