Default Dreger: Andersen or Khudobin maybe available. Flames interested?

http://www.todaysslapshot.com/from-t...-be-available/

Quote:
Dreger: “Time to keep an eye too on the Anaheim Ducks. Not a strong market for goaltenders, but the belief is that either Anton Khudobin or perhaps Freddie Andersen could be available. It’s based on the play of John Gibson.

“As I said, not a strong market. But keep an eye on what’s going on in Montreal. Perhaps there’s some interest there. Maybe in Calgary.

“The asking price for Freddie Andersen is going to be extremely high, but word on the street is that those goalies are available.”

At first I thought you meant Craig Anderson, but Freddie Andersen would be a pretty big upgrade in net too. I'd even be happy with Khudobin short term.

Basically anyone other than the guys we have would be good.

Big fan of Andersen. I'd love to see him in Calgary.

Put me on the Andersen train. Would be ecstatic if we got him for a reasonable price.

I think the Flames have the pieces to get Anderson.

Calgary makes a lot of sense given Hiller and Ramo are both on expiring contracts.

Problem is, we couldn't bring one in without sending one back. That will be a bit of a hang-up for the Ducks.

Can't imagine Anaheim would want to move Andersen to another pacific team here's hoping though

Honestly, we have the absolute worst goaltending in the league and it's not even close. Even Scrivens potentially could be better.

Saying that, pass on Scrivens heh..

The only way I could an intra-division trade like this occurring is if there is a 3rd team involved, just like the LA - Boston trade to send Jones there for Lucic, and then Boston flipping him to SJ.

What does an extremely high asking price look like? I would love to have Anderson in Calgary tonight if possible.

Either of them will do just fine. Anyone but what we got right now.

Would LOVE Andsersen in Calgary.

But, will Anaheim trade him to Calgary without it being an overpayment?

I was not unduly impressed by Andersen in the playoffs last year. Another goaltender riding a good team. That said, he is obviously better than anything we have. I would not give up more than a 2nd rounder or Russell (who is essentially a 2nd rounder at the deadline) for him. Come to think of it, Russell only since our 2nd rounder could be in the early 30s. I would consider Hudler too. Don't know what we do with our deadweight though - I guess eat the salary in the AHL.

What's the cost for Anderson? Goalies don't tend to get huge returns in trades. Something like Hudler and a prospect?

I feel like Ben Bishop's cost from OTT to TB would be a good benchmark for Andersson. Khudobin would be less.

I can't remember what the price was? Was it a 2nd? or was it a 3rd + player?

Ducks are having serious issues scoring, could something be built around Hudler for Andersen?

Looking back, it was for Cory Conacher and a 4th. May have to upgrade the pick to a 3rd but in that range for sure. The Conacher part was a bust for OTT but at the time the kid was doing Tyler Johnson things.
