It's a bittersweet memory (9-0). To me that was the end of the iggy era.

The complete stop of that era will be an end to the Honda center curse.

It would help if it's a third period comeback orchestrated by Johnny, monny, Gio and Brodie. And Bennett.

Interesting looking at the TOI.

The Flames are down to 4 top-4 d-men.... Brodie and Gio get 30 minutes, Hamilton and Wideman 20 and Engelland / smid 10..... Having 4 rather than 5 in the top-4 makes it simpler to manage....

The top line of Hudler - Monahan and Gaudreau 20 -23 and 23 minutes each. Monahan took 28 out of 58 face offs

With Jones getting hurt early one would expect that Frolik would be picking up some of the available ice time, but he only got 14 minutes.

Backlund was basically 4th lined with only a bit over 11 minutes ... the same as Granlund with Granlund getting a bit more TOI in the 3rd period.

The goat of the game (Colborne) had the 4th most ice time of the Flames forwards with 17:45 with over 7 minutes in the 3rd period. Flames coaches obviously had a different view of the game.

I also noticed he was out with the goalie pulled as the extra attacker.

He gets the puck alone infront and his attempted pass to Monahan looks destined for the corner but bounces off Seidenberg and under Rask.

Anyone else get the same vibe watching him?

I can remember a pp in the 2nd where he went to accept a pass on his forehand that passed him on his backhand side. He took his time circling back with the puck, clumsily stick handled through the neutral zone and just gave the puck away once he gained the blue.

I'm glad the top 4 D are getting heavy minutes. That's how it should be.

Colborne is playing some great hockey as of late. Lugging the puck and using his size to protect it well. Last night included.
