Eric Duhatschek's top 60 concerts at 60 - Slapshot Diaries
http://slapshotdiaries.com/60-in-60/

Loosely NHL related but a solid read.

Music and sports – they’ve always been the twin pillars of my life; and so, for my 60th birthday, I figured I would compile a list of my 60 favourite concerts of all time, knowing that I chanced to see a lot of them while on the road covering hockey for the Calgary Herald and later the Globe and Mail.

3. Dire Straits, Olympic Saddledome.
This was the only same concert from his list I've also attended. I believe this was in either 1990 or 1991, can't remember. Strange, considering that I love rock and try not to miss big concert events in Calgary...

Eric is a classic rock guy. Dave Hodge has hipster cred.

Cool that he saw ABBA.

I really miss Muretich.

Subjective to the individual or not, you know you've been to a lot of good shows when David Bowie comes in at 51.

I looked at that list, and am sure every classic rock snob has that exact list as well. Did any of those bands make music into the 90's?

I was at the R.E.M. concert. Orange Crush was much better than Man on the Moon, as was Drive.

Also, if you didn't know that Duhatschek was a white dude...

Orange Crush.. ahhh, memories. I never heard it until I was a little dude.. maybe a few years after it released.

Good memories, thanks for that.

His description of Lightfoot debuting the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald at Massey Hall is pretty haunting.
