Really surprised to see how good a season Phaneuf is having. Looks like Lou Lamoriello pushing all the media cameras out of the locker room have had a very positive effect on his game.

Rinne made a ridiculous save on Jagr (shaft of his stick as he was swimming, and then off the far post).
Jagr's next goal ties him with Marcel Dionne for 4th all time in goals (731). Next on the list is the legendary goal scorer Brett Hull with 741.
He's already 4th all time in points (1820) behind the big 3 of Gretzky (2857), Messier (1887), and Howe (1850). He'll likely pass Howe this season and has an outside shot of challenging Messier for 2nd all time.
Plus, he's still growing the mullet out.
I freaking love Jagr.

Johnson (Avs) got a skate from Nash right to the face. Could have been much worse.

Ugly incident in the Rags and Avs game. Nash lost his balance causing his skate blade to hit Johnson in the face. There was blood but nothing scarily significant like other skate to face/throat accidents from before. Johnson still hasn't returned and I wouldn't expect it tonight.

Must not have been very good last night because he was -4 in their 6-1 loss to Winnipeg. Edit: talking bout Phaneuf, way too slow.
Byron had another breakaway, but missed. Seriously miss that guy.

Quinton Howden puts the Panthers up 1-0 on a weird bounce that the defender went the wrong way on.
Panthers are riding a 4 game winning streak coming into tonight.

Wagner and Duchene score, 2-0 Avalanche after two periods. It was a much more lively period as the Rangers outshot Colorado 13-9. The first period only had seven shots!

Wow, he ties the Blackhawks record set by Bobby Hull It is a power play goal for Kane, 2-1 Senators.

Kane only has thirty more games to go to tie Gretzky's 51 game streak.

LOL...just showed a clip of the Panthers "mic'd up" and it happened to be the game against Calgary way back. Great moment when Willie Mitchell is beaking at Backlund for mixing it up with Barkov. Mitchell just calmly says, "Hey Backlund...take your pick, take your pick. It's paper, rock, scissors here." Basically suggesting that any one of the Panthers would be willing to go with him if he was willing. I had to laugh.

Kane gets his second point of the game with an assist on Panarin's goal to tie the game 2-2 after two periods. Panarin also has two points. It is 3-2 now for the Senators, Stone scores on the power play.
The Rangers spoil Varlamov's shutout with fifty seconds left in regulation time. Colorado wins 2-1.

The Kane assist on Panarin's goal was incredible - no-look from behind the net, everyone was expecting him to go around. Except Panarin, I suppose.
Hoffman wins the game in OT for Sens on a blocker side shot almost identical to one that he hit the post on with 0.2 seconds left in the third.
Fun game to watch. Ottawa's defense beyond Karlsson and Methot is tough to watch. Cowen and Wiercioch were awful tonight.

Dumba scores the only goal midway through the second period on the power play. Both Reimer and Dubnyk played well, the shots were 28-28. Dubnyk gets his fourth shutout of the season.
