Condolences to the family.
QE2 was a mess tonight but I didn't know there were any fatalities.

RCMP release:
"This afternoon at about 2:20 p.m., Innisfail Integrated Traffic Unit responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision on the QE II near the Blindman River hill, north of Red Deer.
"Investigation thus far indicates that a northbound vehicle lost control and rolled into the median on the south side of the Blindman River hill.
"Two northbound vehicles then stopped on the left shoulder of the highway to assist. A semi-truck that was also northbound, and descending the hill, appears to have lost control, striking the rear of the first vehicle that had stopped to assist, then continued into the median out of control and struck the driver, and sole occupant of the second vehicle, who was outside his vehicle on foot in the median. This driver, a 35-year-old male (from) Calgary, was seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance but has since died of the injuries sustained. The family of the deceased has been advised.
"The name of the deceased is not being released. There were no other injuries in this collision."

I have a family member who was friends with him. Sounds like we lost a great person today. Apparently he was just that kind of larger than life person that was nice to everyone, always happy, always positive and just a great guy. He was in politics for all the right reasons, he basically just wanted to help people and even the opposition party's like him.
So there's a shoutout to Manmeet! I didn't know you but it sounds like the world is a worse place with you not in it!

Feel terrible for his family, sounds like he died helping others. Those situations are so incredibly dangerous.

That's a perfect description of this great human being. He did everything in his power to help disadvantaged people make what ever progress possible. He might have been a PC member, but most who voted for him in the last provincial election did so because of who he was and how much he positively impacted the community, not what party he represented.

He was my MLA - he was visible in the riding and seemed to be someone I was pleased to vote for and have representing me. My condolences to his family.

Devastating. I had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Manmeet on several occasions. One of the kindest and genuinely caring people you could know. Also an immensely talented leader for whom I had infinite respect.

Apparently I went to high school at Pearson with him. He was in grade 10 when I was in grade 12.
Always thought he was a good MLA, though I was never in his riding.

I didn't know him other than he ran in a riding that I had some interest in and he had the most awesome of names. RIP.

Tragic news, always seemed like one of the most sincere people in politics. Condolences to his family and friends.
