Default Any suggestions/info on assisted-living care facilities in Calgary?

'Morning, all.

My eighty-something father-in-law has been living in an independent-living seniors facility for about a decade, but he's at the point now where he's going to need to be moved into an assisted-living place. I'm turning to the CP braintrust to see if anyone's had to find a place like this for a relative, and what kind of wisdom and info you might share. He's still pretty sharp mentally, but his mobility is becoming more limited and falls are a reality. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

My Company operates quite a few assisted living facilities in Calgary. Our phone number is 403-256-4151. The company is Statesman / The Manor Villages.

Unfortunately, I'm not in that department to give you any more specific information than that. Give a call to get more information.

my dad is not the most mobile guy and he lives at arbor lake village the place seems nice enough. my dad is the kind of guy that would just say it is ok.

only downside is that i beleive it is around $4,000/month - the rent includes three meals per day, some maid and laundry service and utilities including some level of cable.

my mom has mobility/alzhiemers/demnetia and she is at a carewest facility off of 19th and memorial in the NW. given my mom's state, i suppose the place is fine; but it is tough going to vist her becasue all the residents are parked in front of the TV's - but most of them are not overly mobile.

hopefully you cna find a place in your price range that is clsoe to where you live as both my parents are across the city and it can be hard to find the time to go and see them.

My Grandmother was at the Aspen Lodge in Bridgeland for 10 years or so, no real complaints. Staff were really nice.
