That's crazy. Is there a black hole we don't know about over the Indonesia / Malaysia area or something?

This is freakishly suspicious again,

Found on Twitter. Still very early so I can't confirm authenticity.

Weather looks absolutely horrible in the area, towering storms up to 53,000 feet. Could be anything, but it's my early guess. If anything, I hope they find the damn airplane.
And as a controller, I'll add the "unusual routing" thing means absolutely nothing. I'm almost sure they were asking for deviations around the very weather that could have brought them down.

It's like a T-Mobile USA type of arrangement. They are their own entity but the parent is T-Mobile of Germany. Either way, any missing airplane with a connection to Malaysia at this point is not good.

I hope this has a happy ending... but if it doesn't I hope they at least find the plane so that the families/friends of those on board can have some closure.

Wowzers. Hopefully the ending is good but it doesn't look promising. From the news report I read, it looks like the plane has been missing for almost two hours...am I correct on that?

I think you said you are a dispatcher so you can maybe add to this?
I can't really look at it from a normal person's perspective because it seems self-explanatory to me, but to some degree I think the average person would underestimate the hell thunderstorms can inflict on airliners and the amount of work pilots and dispatchers put in to avoid them; we are damn sure to let the planes deviate as required because they have impressively accurate radar and we have pretty much nothing.

Seems a bit premature
