Kent Simpson doesn't have an NHL contract... unless the Flames signed him to one just now.

Think that one is a typo. He is being loaned to Adirondack.

He showed a ton of jump last game in Stockton - Reminds me a bit about Jooris; this must mean bad news about Ferly.

Even if Ferland's injury isn't too bad, they still only had 22 men on the roster, so there was room for one more. Since they're travelling to New York, it would make sense to carry 23 men for the road trip.

I assume by putting Ferland on IR.

Keep in mind that if they put Ferland on IR, he has to miss a minimum of 7 days.

The fact they haven't done that yet suggest they may expect him back sooner than 7 days (or are still waiting on test results).
