Ramo vs Hiller vs Ortio: The Debate
Since the trade thread has degenerated into a goalie thread, why not start a new one to talk about the ongoing debate on who to keep.
I vote Hiller/Ortio

I think the only goalie that has any trade value is Ortio (yes, even if they retained 50% salary on Hiller or Ramo). I like the guy, but if Treliving wants to trade his way out of this three-goalie mess, it'll probably have to be Ortio.
Of course in hindsight, the best thing to do would have been to let Ramo go to free agency. As the old saying goes, Treliving made the bed, now he has to sleep in it.
On the bright side, Ortio should provide a decent return, and we do have a couple of other good goalies coming up through the pipeline. I think Gillies provides the best shot at a true #1 anyway.

Send one down...last year with injuries, having 3 goalies was very helpful.

Wasn't there a poll less than a month ago where everyone overwhelmingly chose to keep Ortio, and believed Hiller was the most likely to be moved/most desirable for other teams/worst candidate to keep?
Has anything changed since then?
EDIT: Here it is. Not even two weeks old.
Seriously, has anything changed at all since then to sway a lot of people one way or the other?

Well it seems like since Hiller won the last game, the Hiller fans have come out of the wood work.

I think that poll was asking what we thought was the ideal tandem, if we could choose. I think this debate is now pondering the reality that no team is calling and asking for Hiller. Hence the need for a plan B.

That's how things tend to go when players play well, or players play poorly. People with a view of a player that corresponds to the player's recent play tend to get more vocal.

Trade Ramo
Hiller might get more but unless Ortio tears it up this season and takes over the starting position I'm much more comfortable with the two.

I'm kind of surprised this wasn't stuffed into the Ramo re-signed thread...

Who gets the start next game? is it Ortio's turn or does Hiller play until he loses?

I would bet, its Hiller's until the team loses.
Ortio will be in the press box.

Once Hiller has a bad game, who gets the next start?
