SJ cruising again, up 3-0 on Washington.
I hadn't expected them to get off to this sort of start. Maybe Todd McLellan and his nobody is captain mind games were really holding that team back.
Thinking about McLellan some more, isn't it kind of weird how he kept switching Burns back and forth from a defenseman to a forward? I wonder if he'll do this with edmonton. Schultz might make a better forward, actually. Maybe Yak will be a full time dman instead of just using him on the point on the powerplay.

Did anybody see the disallowed Washington goal? I didn't see any contact but it was called back after coaches challenge and video replay. Did I miss something there?

Yeah, just saw that. Yikes. I'm not a fan of this at all. This should be nipped in the bud, if this becomes the new standard, watch out.
Yes there is contact, but it is minimal and non obtrusive, and furthermore partially caused by positioning change by the defenceman.
If this is representative of how they want to call goalie interference, it's a new precedent.

The Jets lead the Rangers 2-1 after two periods.
The Penguins are finally scoring as they are tied 2-2 in the second intermission. Pacioretty has both goals for the Habs.

Great win by the Jets. I'll put money on ehlers having a better year than McDavid.

McDavid gets his first. TSN says it's unassisted. Sounds about right.
EDIT - just updated with the assists =\

I'm just surprised he didn't get both the assists on his goal.

Sharks win 5-0 against the Caps. Martin Jones has back-to-back shutouts now and has stopped 77 of 78 shots so far this season. Never would've expected the Sharks to start the season so well

Disagree, any contact with the goalie (initiated by the skater) when the puck is headed to the net should result in no goal. The right call was made in my opinion. You try to stop the puck when someone is bumping into you.

Why isn't the broadcast crew showing how McDavid coasted from blueline to blueline and made no effort to do anything on that goal? Weird.

Hall dumps the puck right on the Dallas net, Lehtonen passes puck out to Spezza, empty net goal for the hat trick.
Hall just might be the dumbest player in the league.

Caps No Goal
Does the crease even matter anymore? I think Beagle was only in there for a split second before the contact, and then the "contact" happened outside the crease...
