Icon55 Robin Lehner out 6-10 weeks

Buffalo Sabres @BuffaloSabres
#Sabres Coach Bylsma says Lehner has a high-ankle sprain, roughly timeline for recovery is 6-10 weeks.

let the speculation continue.

Given a one game sample size for each I'm pretty sure the Sabres would want, and it would be easier to deal, Jonas Hiller.

I speculate that the Sabres goaltending will be even more subpar for the next 6-10 weeks.

So is Hiller CP's new favorite now?

I want us to keep Hiller but unfortunately I think he has the most name recognition...

I trust Treliving will pull off a Ramo for Eichel trade in the next week.

He's not running for office.

Hiller is not going anywhere unless at least one of Ortio or Rämö equals his level of play.

I know you're joking but It's like that one poster who once suggested to trade Cammi for Drouin since the other team was in a need.

Yup, it had to happen right now to make sense, lol.

That would be an ideal situation. Ramo/Hiller + Smid for a 3rd or 4th? Perhaps even a 6th or 7th?

Or would we want a trade straight up the keeping the cupboards full - 2nd / 3rd.

Hiller has done it for way longer with way more consistency than Karri Ramo. All we need out of the non-Ortio position is stability. The team doesn't need Hiller/Ramo to lead them to a Stanley Cup, they need a guy to be a security blanket while they evaluate stud goalie prospects.

Since they're basically the same guy in the same contract situation, keep the guy with 400 NHL games and slightly better numbers.

I highly doubt the Sabres will be interested in Ramo. I can't see any team in the league really interested in Ramo getting paid over $3 million as goaltenders like him are dime a dozen. Likely Hiller but then that leaves the Flames in a position where they have to go all in on Ortio. Very risky.

Would be pretty surprised if this doesn't result in Hiller or Ramo on the move. It's either this, another surprise need down the road, or waivers.

sounds like CP is more high on hiller now. A week ago we were higher on Ramo. Make up your mind!!

But seriously, trade whichever one maximizes your return.

It's almost like CP is made up of hundreds and hundreds of individuals each with their own opinions and that these individuals don't always come to a unanimous consensus.

Pretty much exactly this. Like most of CP, I can't make up my mind on either.

In the end, I don't see Hiller or Ramo being the goalies that lead us to championships. Whichever Buffalo wants, they can have.

It's tough for something that isn't one singular collective entity to "make up it's mind"
