is there any way i could directly link a soundcloud file on here instead of having the link?

Should work, goes like expected:

It's kind of confusing unfortunately, if you click the share link in the soundcloud on the site and choose the embed option, there'll be a number in the code after /tracks/:

<iframe width="100%" height="166" scrolling="no" frameborder="no" src="https://w.soundcloud.com/player/?url=https%3A//api.soundcloud.com/tracks/144046509&color=ff5500"></iframe>

144046509 in this example.

Use that number in the [soundcloud] tags.
