Default Volume delays on TransCanada east into Calgary

It just took us 2 1/4 hours to get from Canmore to Calgary, and that's turning off onto highway 22 to the highway 8 route. It seems like it's been like this all summer. WTF? Anybody know why it's so brutal? Just volume?

Nope, took us the same.
There was a trailer (camper) that was flipped about 15mins west from HWY22 (cochrane/bragg creek turn off) in the east bound lane on the shoulder.

Didn't look bad, maybe a wind gust or something. But yes the regular 45/hr drive turned into 2 hrs

And then another accident after that - truck and motorbike. It was crappy all summer because they were paving. That finally cleared up...hmm, about 2 weeks ago or so? Can't recall for sure but it hasn't been long.

As someone who has a skinny Z lot house in 3 sisters, Canmore would NOT be for this (as it would increase visitors which citizens or town dont want) and wouldnt provide convenient land access for a terminal.

Nothing says the province wouldnt build it and put the terminal in Harvie Heights or somewhere else but with the current sentiment out there dont expect a warm reception or cooperation with the town - sadly

Highway 1 between Calgary and Banff is one of the worst places in Canada for left lane hogs.

Worst drive back from the mountains ever for me, worse than any winter ski trips. Probably because my daughter starts screaming bloody murder as soon as we drop below 40km/h...

Probably shouldn't be putting Speed in the DVD player. It just gives her ideas.

Yeah, these look like a lot of fun to ride. Added bonus, you could really do your part to help out the environment and clean up along the way.
