At the time , Fleury for Regehr was it for me. I know it panned out, but at the time I was in grade school and all I knew was that Fleury was my favourite Flames.

I have to say Phaneuf. We should have gotten a much better return at the time.

Jarome Iginla for Hanowski, Klimchuk and Agostino. That is a horrible trade. I should add that Iginla is the guy solely responsible for rekindling my passion for the Flames. That was a tough trade for me to handle. That return is so bogus.

Nieuwendyk for Corey Millen and that other Inglinga guy or whatever. At the time I was feeling pretty ripped off.
I also was extremely underwhelmed with the Phaneuf deal when it happened, along with everyone else here.
Both trades panned out well in the long run.

The Al MacInnis trade bothered me. Steve Chiasson wasn't bad but he was no MacInnis.

Most of the popular ones...
Savard for Zoolander
Iginla for Klimchuk + Hanoski + Agostini
Regehr+2nd for Butler + Byron

Chaisson was for Vernon. Which I was actually happy about because I thought Kidd was going to be a superstar
MacInnis signed an OS with St.Louis and we got Housley. I remember being pissed about that one. I think both moves happened in same fateful off season that pretty much sealed our fate for the next 10 years as an also-ran. Stupid Riseborough.

That's right. My brain has always linked those two trades together. Dark times.

Phaneuf was terrible, getting quantity over quality set this organization back 5 years. Also the Kotalik trade.
The dismantling of the early 90s team is one of the most embarassing sequences in modern trade history, Gilmour trade was the worst but also
Mullen for a 2nd... coming off an almost 40 goal season?
Roberts and Kidd for Cassels and Giguere
Suter and pieces for Zalapski and pieces
Macinnis for Housely - Phil the thrill was elite offensively but one of the worst defenders ever, like Justin Schultz if he could actually score.
Makarov for future considerations
letting Joel Otto walk for nothing when he wanted to stay
Vernie for Chiasson
The list could go on. Didn't get one decent young asset or high pick for a team of all-stars in their early 30s for the most part. Only decent trade was for Iginla.
Edit - the recent Iginla trade was bad too, but not on value, just because they waited so long.

I also didn't like the Val Bure trade for Niedermayer. I actually like Bure. Niedermayer was so underwhelming his entire time.

Ference and Kobasew for Brad Stuart and Wayne Primeau.
This was a dagger to that 2004 team chemistry.

The Jokinen/Prust for Higgins/Kotalik was disappointing because it was so obviously a terrible trade and it signified my complete loss of faith in Sutter as GM.

Trading Brett Hull to the Blues for d man Rob Ramage and goaltender Rick Walmsley. I thought we were giving away a player who would score a lot of goals in the league. Even the GM at the time Cliff Fletcher expected that Hull would be scoring 50+ goals a season and said as much during the trade press conference. Turns out we were both right.
The explanation at the time was the players we traded for would boster our chances of winning the Cup. It did work in our favour but I have wondered how that trade would been looked upon had we not won the Cup in 89.
