GAME 11: Labour Day Rematch (STAMPS at Eskimos)
Game Time: Saturday, September 12th at 7:30pm Commonwealth Stadium
TV: TSN, ESPN3
Calgary won the Labour Day Classic game last week and now the rematch is on. Stampeders won the last 8 Labour Day Classic rematch game since 2007. Ever since Head Coach John Hufnagel became Stamps head coach. they have never lost in rematch against the Eskimos.
OFFENSE:
Offense did not light up the scoreboard last week but they scored enough points to beat the Eskimos. QB Bo Levi Mitchell was 24 for 36 for 251 yards with 1 TD pass to rookie Greg Wilson and 1 INT. Both R McDaniel and R Rogers caught 7 passes for 70+ yards each. Rookie R Greg Wilson caught the only TD in the game last week ended up with 3 catches for 26 yards. Offense on the other hand lost another OLine due to injury. International Garry Williams left the game last week and won't play in the rematch. He will be replaced by another International LG John Estes in the lineup.
DEFENSE:
Stampeders defense has not allowed a TD in 3 of the past 4 games. In the last 4 weeks, they recorded 17 QB sacks and 10 takeaways. DE Charleston "Sackmaster" Hughes had a huge game last week recording 5 tackles and 3 sacks. He would have 4 sacks. He sacked Mike Reilly late in the game that pretty much sealed the deal for Stamps. Hughes won the Top Performer for the week. LB Deron Mayo also had a huge game recording 3 tackles, 1 sack and 1 forced fumble. DB Brandon Smith is hurting and will be a game time decision. Rookie DB Ciante Evans been practicing on his spot and will probably start in the rematch.
SPECIAL TEAM:
Returner Tim Brown left the game due to the injury after that low hit by Eskimos 3rd string QB Jordan Lynch. I thought it was a dirty low hit but Brown thinks it was a clean one. When Brown left the game, Stamps tried Joe Burnett and Anthony Parker to return the punt with no success. Both players fumbled the ball on the return last week. Rookie R/Returner Nathan Slaughter will be in to replace Brown in the lineup and hopefully he will have success in this game.
INs and OUTs:
IN: #0 DB Ciante Evans, #83 R/Ret Nathan Slaughter, #66 LG John Estes, #98 DE Brandon Boudreaux
OUT: Returner Tim Brown, OL Garry Williams, DT Quinn Smith and possibly DB Brandon Smith.
OPPONENT:
QB Mike Reilly will start the game tonight to replace the struggling rookie QB James Franklin. Reilly had a good 4th quarter last week but Stamps defense sort of abandoned their aggressive defense at that time. I am hoping Stubler's crew will also be as aggressive in this game and pressure Reilly all game.
GO STAMPS GO!!!!

Did anything come out last week after the game as to why he wouldn't shake Bo's hand?

Why are they making the coin toss fiasco with that punk Lacey a big deal? Who the heck is Lacey anyways? He's only on the field during special team play so who the heck cares what he does?
