Haha, with every single one of these I'll be choosing whoever was on the '93 roster. I'm that much of a bandwagon fan.

Fangraphs Wins Above Replacement as a jay
Whitt - 21.8 (12 Seasons)
Zaun - 7.1 (5 Seasons)
Fletcher - 6.4 (5 Seasons)
Borders - 5.4 (6 Seasons)
Martinez - 4.5 (6 Seasons)
O'Brien - 3.9 (2 Seasons)
Martin - 3.0 (1 season)
Buck - 2.8 (1 season)
Myers - 2.4 (7 Seasons)
Navarro - 2.1 (2 Seasons)
In terms of longevity, Whitt is the runaway winner. In terms of raw talent, Martin is the runaway winner as that 3.0 will be more of a 4.0-4.5 by the end of the season.
Whitt's best season is 3.6, which Martin will surpass by the end of the month give or take.

Ernie Whitt should win this easily - he is one of the all time great Jays. But he is also a guy that many fans of the team today, don't really have a connection to.

World Series MVP means Borders is my automatic choice.
Other than that, Martin is easily the most talented.

Even though I am old enough to (barely) remember Ernie Whitt, I still have to take the emotional choice and choose Pat Borders.
One of my favourite Calgary Cannons memories was going to see him in 2002 when he was just hanging on to the game and playing for Tacoma. The entire ballpark cheered Borders more than our own team those nights, often with "MVP" chants from when he was World Series MVP.

Though not as a Jay, some good Borders trivia:
On July 27, 2005, Moyer and starting catcher Pat Borders became the oldest starting battery in Major League history. Both were 42 years old at the time for a combined age of 84. This was Borders' final Major League game.

Ernie going down on a knee to hit a home run - always a memorable sight.
Borders had a magical post season, but for years Whitt was an absolute rock behind the plate.
Bick Martinez - I remember driving home and listening to the Jays game that pretty much ended Martinez's career - when he broke his leg getting run down at home, got the out, still threw to 3rd, overthrow (because he had a broken leg) but still got the return throw and tagged out the runner coming home. Amazing play but too much to come back from back then.
Darrin Fletcher was decent but more memorable to me in that he was a former Expos catcher.
Martin may go on to be the best Jay catcher ever, but right now for sheer length of tenure with continuous strong play, my vote goes to Ernie Whitt.

I recall going to a Cannons game where Pat Gillick was honoured and Borders, on the very tail end of his career was still catching for the visitors (I think it was Tacoma).

Came here to vote Benito Santiago! Leaving disappointed.
On a more serious note most of these guys are before my time. (Started getting into baseball in '95/'96) so for me its a choice between Zaun and Martin. Zaun's a jerk and Martin hasn't been here long enough, even though he is easily the best catcher this team had had in a long time.

Martin likely is the best player the Jays have had at the position, but it's still early in his career as a Jay, so I went with Ernie Whitt.
Really Borders MVP is a bit misleading. He almost won it because no one player on the Blue Jays was particularly outstanding in that series, and he had the best numbers. Ultimately it was Jeff Reardon basically being the Least Valuable Player for Atlanta that let them win that series. Other than that Ed Sprague with the pinch hit homer in game 2, Kelly Grubers one and only hit in the freaking playoffs in game 3 with Devon Whites catch and should have been triple play. Jimmy Key's stellar outing in game 4 with the Borders HR, and Dave Winfields double in extras in game 6.
It was hard to pick one guy who really made the difference in that series, it was a real team effort.

Surprised that Ernie is not running away with it.
Add me to the list of people who would vote in
an Expos poll.

Same as Pagal4321. Grew up with Boarders. Will always remember him, but hoping that it becomes Martin
