Default 2016 WJC: Semifinals. SWE vs FIN 7AM. RUS vs USA 11AM. TSN

All Flames prospects are done in this tournament. Hickey and McDonald were eliminated with Canada. Ollas Mattsson was hurt in the quarterfinals and will be out 4-6 weeks.

The Swedes will be without the services of William Nylander for the rest of the tournament.

Lots of records that could be broken today.

Puljujarvi who is averaging 3 points / game so far could potentially break the record for points by an under 18 year old at this tournament.

1. Jagr, 1990 18;
2. Gretzky 1978 17;
3. Lindros 1978 17;
4. Vyborny 1993 15;
5. Puljujarvi 2016 15

Matthews is 1 goal shy of tying Roenick's record of 8 goals by a USA player in one WJC

Yes they do but you need to pay for TSN (e.g. Shaw or Telus) to watch it

See Sweden taking this game rather handily due to superior defensive structure and talent, goaltending, and better coaching overall.

Finland is just too one-dimensional in this tourney.

Need to avoid taking too many stupid penalties though. Like Kempe just did.

hintz ties it up 1-1

Sweden playing with fire giving the Finns PP after PP.

Although granted that was a pretty weak call on Kempe

I get what he's trying to say, in that he's just worrying about how his team plays, but who doesn't scout the opposition? That's just idiotic not to be prepared for what threats they could pose.
