He's really only played one season (25 games the prior year). Sure, he had a nice breakout season with 48 points, but it's one season.

$2M sounds reasonable to me.

He has to prove that he isn't a one-hit wonder before he gets more. Fair deal for the Sens.

This guy has talent. His AHL season in 2013/14 was off the charts good. True he is making less than Bouma this year but my guess is he was not interested in any more than 1 year at the dollars the Sens were offering.

Yes, but we bought a year of Bouma's UFA. Term makes this a different deal
