Icon48 Jonathan Quick on the NHL elite Snipers

Sorry if already posted, but I thought this was a fascinating article from the Player's Tribute. Quick is explaining why some of the game's top shooters are so successful. Gifs of those player make the examples stand out as well.

Gaudreau made short work of him all season and not even an HM!

Another awesome piece by the player's tribune.

Awesome article yet again. I'm now eagerly awaiting the Elite Goalies article from the perspective of some of the leagues best snipers. It would be interesting to hear how players adjust to the different goalie styles before each game (Price, Lundqvist, Quick, etc).

Excellent read from one of the games elite goalies. Love how he breaks down the differences between Getz/Perry and Toews/Kane. Mental vs. Physical.

With some of the trash that gets passed as 'news' on TSN and Snet, the players tribune is simply master class compared to that. Great articles every time.

Half the time (especially Snet) post pictures of a bunch of tweets, make a couple comments, and call it an article.

Between this one and Couture's earlier one, i'm convinced Datsyuk's goal is to make other players look ridiculous.

He's not on the level of the players mentioned yet. Quick has already played all those guys like 50 times. Takes time to earn respect.

The way he describes the intangibles of Toews, it definitely has a familiar ring of Monahan in it. Same with Kane.

I love these. Looks like next is Elite Defensemen 101 with Shattenkirk.

I like him, but would probably be better if it was someone like Weber, or someone like Kane explaining what makes it hard to beat guys. Kind of like this Quick article but with players. Use a DMan to describe top forwards and a froward to describe top Dmen.

That Shattenkirk article has been out for a while now:

It's an old article and really well written. It is good to get perspective from someone who is very good at the position, but is explaining what makes guys like Weber, Doughty, Pietro etc. just that much better than himself.

Read on /r/hockey that Quick is doing a part 2, featuring Anze Kopitar. He also is taking requests on his twitter for other players people want to see.
