Default Karoleena Homes

Does anyone on CP have experience dealing with Karoleena Homes?

I'm in the beginning stages of looking at prefab housing solutions for a place in the BC interior, looking for first or second hand accounts of the design/production process as well as costs for different options.

Anyone here had one built? Good experience? Neutral experience? Bad Experience?

Help a brother out.

Those are really cool. Any idea of the price range?

The 2015 PNE Show Home they feature on their website was "appraised" at $2.1 mil including land.

I talked to them when I was thinking of knocking down my place and building an infill in Inglewood. Toured their facility and saw a couple of places under construction, they seemed to be pretty on the ball and had everything worked out. And I really like the idea of prefab and the quality of construction you can get with it. But when I ran the numbers, their $/sq ft was just out of whack compared to custom builders. For the base level of finish, I couldn't figure out how they couldn't get their costs down when the vast majority of the work was being executed in climate controlled comfort by their own trades.

Nice guys, great product, but I think their niche is definitely more the vacation home market than urban infills.

Sister used to work for them as an interior designer, they are pretty quality all around when it comes to the design/materials. Never heard her complain about anything while working there.

Maybe shoot me a few questions if you have some and I'll forward them onto her, she was really involved in the decision making from what I remember.
