Icon27 Odyua has signed a 2 year deal with Dallas ($3.75 mil AAV)

Joe McDonald @ESPNJoeyMac
Oduya has signed with a team and it'll be announced at 11 am, per source.

Stars, Buffalo, and Edmonton have been linked recently

edit:

Stephen Whyno @SWhyno
#Stars sign Johnny Oduya to 2-year deal.

"We have a signing to announce."

"Oduya?"

"Yes, we do, but we're not telling you yet."

Once this is announced, I can see Franson moving soon after to one of the runner up teams.

Maybe they heard it was Edmonton, but couldn't and wouldn't believe anyone would do that willingly, so they want to quadruple check.

Really don't know why teams do this stuff. Announce the thing, the only people who will know will be the hardcores who watch for this stuff religiously.

And while you're at it, what's the point of holding back the salary details?

Not sure what to think of Oduya. Didn't impress me in Winnipeg but faced the toughest competition on the team in Chicago.

Well then. Daley out, Oduya in is at the very worst a lateral move. Can't find fault with it given the short term.

Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli
Johnny Oduya's deal with the Stars: 2 years, $7.5 million, as per @Real_ESPNLeBrun.

If not for their horrible goaltending tandem (yes, they will be horrible) Dallas would really be starting to scare me.

Very reasonable dollars and term. Low risk move for Dallas.

Not sure how you can reach that conclusion, especially with such conviction, but would be interested to hear your argument.

A lot less than the 5mil per Buffalo was apparently offering
Goes to show Buffalo is still one of if not the worst markets to play in the US

I would counter their tandem has potential to be no worse than Hiller and Ramo which was good enough to get the Flames in the playoffs.

This is a good move for the Stars and they definitely are a team that could be a threat to make the playoffs.

nice stop gap option for the Stars. Their defense still sucks, but at least it's not Oiler level bad anymore.

Good, did not want. Another Josh Gorges, and we didn't need that on an expensive contract.

Franson is the guy I hope Buffalo gets.
