Default Any sales on jerseys this time of year?

I have a buddy in Calgary for the stampede and I'm wondering if there's any stores with jerseys sales going on right now?

Hey there.

I already have my jerseys so am never really looking out for this stuff, especially in the summer. That said, I seem to recall the Fan Attic having a clearance sale at the Dome towards the end of the season and playoffs. They had jerseys stitched with player names no longer on the team or whatever, marking them down to move them out.

Maybe go check out the Fan Attic in Northland Mall or whatever it's called. The mall right across from SAIT with the Sears store anchoring the end. There is a Fan Attic in there. Perhaps they still are selling off these jerseys there.

Beyond that, maybe just check out Kijijii.

http://m.kijiji.ca/all-categories/ca...tionId=1700199

Looks like you can pick one up for $30-40-50 and up.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

If it's on Kijiji it's probably fake.

Aren't the FanAttics in the Dome open for Stampede?
I recall going into one a few years ago when we went to see the marching bands.

I too am looking for a new jersey.

Trying to find a retro style Gaudreau or Monahan.

Good luck! The retros are no more.

A couple of things:

(1) Yes, the Fan Attic at the Saddledome is open through Stampede, but they charge maximum dollars (ie. regular prices) for everything since it is somewhat a tourist trap - unless you want to get a Sven Baertschi jersey.....

(2) The retros have been sold out and probably won't be made anymore (much like the Hertiage Classic edition). If you see them on the shelves, they may be the last ones from the remaining stock.

I'm not sure there's anything wrong with jersey's that aren't authentic. I don't feel its necessary to have a tie down on a jersey you're wearing in the crowd. A Reebok or CCM replica that you find in Sport Chek is just fine, no?

I was at the grounds on Sunday with the wife and kids for family day. We popped into the dome so I could check out my relocated seats. The Fan Attic was closed then, but it 'was' Sunday, so maybe thats why.

I was also there on Sunday, the store by the +15 was open when I got there around noon. Maybe you went much earlier or much later...

Correct. They've already held all the clearance sales etc for them.

I know, it's a travesty. They're so nice.

I was definitely there before noon, but sometime after 10 as well. Maybe it opened at 11 or 12 and I was just ahead of that. Regardless, it sounds like it's open over the Stampede all the same, which is what matters for those wanting to know.

Thanks for the info.

Agreed -- beware of fake jerseys on kijiji. If you want to buy one that's fine but know that you're not getting a "deal" -- you're actually paying 3-4 times what the guy bought the jersey for because they are unlicensed knock-offs from China.

There's a difference between replica/authentic and fake/authentic. Replica jerseys are fine; some people splurge to get an authentic which is a step up in terms of quality. On the other hand, a fake jersey (i.e. unlicensed knock-off from China) is a far cry from an authentic/licensed one (i.e. that you can buy in stores).

Yea, don't buy a fake jersey. The replicas that you'd buy at Sport Check or wherever are perfectly fine, since they're licensed, but the Chinese knock offs can be so bad. Most of them you can tell are fake from the other side of the Saddledome.

Thanks for the input on fake jerseys all. I suppose as it's Kijiji one can still go and check out the jersey and make a decision after seeing it. It's not like it's a purchase site unseen type ordeal, so if it's that bad you simply walk away.

But very valid points all the same. I don't buy a lot of stuff online so am a bit ignorant towards the knock off things. Apologies then if Kijiji was a bad suggestion.

Cheers

Bianca Amor's Liquidation had some official NHL Flames towels for 2$ each a week ago. They may still have them.

The dome does still sell the Retro's ( I popped by before the concert yesterday) - I dont know if they carry pre-lettered jerseys still. I think they sold out of the JH & SM on Retro Night.

You could order the lettering package though.

Just FYI... anyone looking for the retro jersey. Pro Hockey Life has them... but they aren't on sale.
