Default Who would you rather have? Kane/Toews or Getzlaf/Perry?

Watching this Hawks/Ducks series, I've been thinking about who the better duo is? I think it's close and thought it was worthy of discussion. Who would you rather have on your team? Kane/Toews, or Getzlaf/Perry?

I'd take Kane/Toews. They always seem to show up. Toews is a great leader and has so much poise and Kane has probably the best hands in the NHL. Would be cool to see a poll on this if a mod can do that.

Kane/Toews. But the Flames already have some version of that.

Not a fan of Perry's borderline Kesler like antics. Sure it helps you win but I hate that style.

Heh...Toews/Kane...

Perry is lucky that half the crap he pulls doesn't get called, and he DOES take too many STUPID PIMs...

Getzlaf is very good, but, lacks the excitement that the speed of the 'Hawk pair can bring.

Kane and Toews. Perry is scum. Getzlaf is great, but paired with that moron Perry he gets knocked right outta contention.

Kane is slick and skilled, Toews is all heart and leadership. You can't really go wrong with them.

Really depends on the team and style you want to play I suppose. If you put Toews/Kane on Anaheim and Perry/Getzlaf on Chicago and I think Chicago gets better, Anaheim probably stays the same. They have an element that Chicago doesn't really have

Since they've started playing, Toews/Kane. They both shouldered the load to both cups, plus 3 conference finals appearances. Getzlaf/Perry have one cup, but they also had either Pronger/Neidermeyer on the ice at all times.

Toews and Kane for me too. If I only had to pick 1 it might be Getzlaf though, he's terrific.

Not really fair as Toews/Kane have had duotor Hall of Famers in Hossa, Quennville, Keith, etc. I'll give you the fact that Toews captained the team to the cups though.

I'm not sure why you included Keith, but does Selanne not rival Hossa in this comparison?

Definetely Kane and Toews, because they are younger.

You can, I'm just pointing out that in both cases there was plenty of "load being shouldered" and you can't really say Toews/Kane did it mostly alone. Both teams were littered with future HOFers.

Kane and Toews for sure. They have 2 more cups and are younger. Usually with the big boys knees wear out faster, who knows how long Kane and Toews will be around for.

Kane and Toews without a doubt for me as IMO they are up there as one of the all time best combination of leadership (Toews) and pure skill (Kane) the league has seen. Better than Crosby and Malkin as well as although they may grade out better individually we are doing a twosome so I feel you have a better chance of winning with Toews and Kane. That isn't a slight to Getzlaf and Perry who have been a fantastic duo and very worthy of being in the same conversation.

Toews and Kane easily.

Arguably the best captain in the league and maybe the most skilled clutch playoff performer we've seen in years

Random note:

Gaudreau - Eichel - Kane at the Olympics is going to be incredible to watch

Hawks have won two cups. The Ducks have won one cup. Something doesn't math up here.

At any rate, I'd take Toews and Kane. They have made it into the third round or better in at least 5 of the last 7 years.

Perry and Getzlaf haven't been on a team with quite as an impressive resume, inspite of their one Stanley Cup, which came in their 2nd year (each) when they were not yet the go to guys as they are now. That year Selanne, Scotty Niedermayer and Pronger were the driving forces behind the Ducks.

Just based on success, I'd pick Toews and Kane. However if you're confident that you can build a winning roster after picking your top pair, you can't really go wrong with either combo.

Toews/Kane twice on sundays.

If Kane is 10 cents Getzlaf is a nickel, he's a world class...classless goof.
