Default World's Largest Ram (Bighorn Sheep)

Interesting story about the life of the world record ram, who lived around Sheep River:

I truly hate the term "harvest" used by hunters. You are killing animals for fun.

"Harvest" could have a specific meaning as it relates to the Regulations - the government issues tags to hunt a limited number of animals in specific regions. It may not be just a way to suger-coat that they are killing animals.

Ram 706 was a monster. I bet somebody would of paid 6 figures to "harvest" him legally.

Gorgeous animal. I love reading stories like this. I think I posted one a few years ago about the Grizzly sow that had swam across Flathead Lake as part of a multi hundred mile trek that is not at all normal for females. Fascinating stuff.

Such exacting measurements are about more than bragging rights, as a 207-incher taken in 1924 is currently for sale in Utah for a whopping US$95,000.

You can see why Rams like this are targeted by poachers.
