Graham James faces more charges of Sexual Assault
Former Canadian junior hockey coach Graham James, who has previously served prison time for sexually assaulting several former players, is facing new sexual assault charges.
The charges are related to incidents alleged to have taken place against a member of the Western Hockey League’s Swift Current Broncos between 1990 and 1991. James coached the team between 1986 and 1994.
A complaint was filed to Swift Current RCMP on Sept. 27, 1993*, RCMP said in a news release. Following what police called “a thorough investigation,” charges were laid against the 62-year-old James.
He is charged under Section 271 of the Criminal Code with sexual assault.

note*: Date should be September 27, 2013.
Theo Fleury had tweeted "By the time a pedophile gets caught he has over 120 victims not surprised by the news of Graham James."
120 victims is insane. The guy should have been locked up for life in the 90s

It is a joke, this guy was able to roam free with a slap on the wrist. I think this is the one area the US justice system gets it right, sex offenders hear get big time sentences and have to serve hard time. I hope that scum bag finally gets what he deserves

Forgive my legal ignorance, but isn't this well past the statute of limitations?

Nope. I thought so too, but according to Wikipedia:
"Canada
For crimes other than summary offences, there is no statute of limitations in Canadian criminal law. For indictable (serious) offences such as major theft, murder, kidnapping or sexual assault, a defendant may be charged at any future date;[15] in some cases, warrants have remained outstanding for more than 20 years. Civil-law limitations vary by province,[16] with Ontario introducing the Limitations Act, 2002 on January 1, 2004.[17]"
Man this guy is a real son of a bitch. It never ends. I wonder if there could be some sort of cumulative effect of all these convictions that would send him to the slammer for good.

It must be the same laws in Canada and the UK. Disgraced rock star Gary Glitter was recently convicted of sex crimes dating back to the 1970's, and received a prison term of 16 years in prison earlier this year.
In the United States, there is a statute of limitation law. It varies by state, but using Nevada law as an example, unless a victim files a written report within four years of an assault, no charges can be laid thereafter.
This may be the reason that Bill Cosby will never be prosecuted for any of his alleged crimes, since the statute of limitations in nearly all cases brought upon the actor took place years ago.

A travesty of justice that this guy was allowed out over and over again. I wonder how short his sentence will be this round.

This is a bit off topic, but here in New Zealand there is a famous street musician named Graeme James.
Imagine my reaction when some friends of mine said, "Graeme James is in town, we should all go see him!"

Why put him out of his misery, when everyone he hurt still has to live with theirs every day?
Castrate him and brand his forehead.

This guy deserves a new kind of punishment. He needs to die in prison, and then be buried with handcuffs on.
